1 Who are we?
1.1 Who is Stollery Kids Store?

The Stollery Kids Store is a children's store owned and operated by the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation. Since 2001, proceeds from every sale raise funds for priority needs at the Stollery Children's Hospital. 

The Stollery Kids Store team consists of one supervisor, one full-time staff member and three part-time staff. We are very fortunate to have some tremendous volunteers fill in throughout the month to support our staff with various store projects, and excellent customer support.

1.2 Where are you located?

The Stollery Kids Store is located at 1H1.31, on the main floor of the Walter C. Mackenzie Health Sciences Centre at 8440-112 St. Edmonton, Alberta. This is the building that houses the Stollery Children's Hospital, University of Alberta Hospital, and Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute.

We can be found next to the Rexall Pharmacy and accessed via both the 112 St. and 114 St. entrances.

1.3 Where is The Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation Office?

The Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation main office is not located at the hospital.

The office is two blocks away from the hospital at College Plaza on the corner of 82nd Avenue and 112 St. - #800, 8215 112 St. Edmonton, Alberta.

2 Product Questions
2.1 Do you sell flowers?

We carry primarily toys at our store. We don't carry flowers.

You can find flowers at the Friends of the University Gift Shop (located across from our store at the hospital)

2.2 Do you carry clothing?

We carry some Socks/Slippers

We carry Stollery Branded apparel (t-shirts - adults & kids, long sleeves - adults, and hoodies - adults)

2.3 Do you carry diapers?

We don't carry diapers  (our store is very small with limited storage space to carry all the sizes)

2.4 Do you carry Stollery Swag?

YES!

We are your source for Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation Branded:

Pens, mechanical pencils, badge pulls, lanyards, travel mugs, water bottles

Kids t-shirts, Adult t-shirts, Adult 3/4 sleeves, Adult long sleeves, Adult lightweight hoodies, and Adult fleece hoodies

Our brand new Stollery t-shirt designs drop annually in January for those collecting them!

3 Patient Information
3.1 Do I need to know the room number?

No, you don't need to know the room number, but it is helpful. You do need to have the correct full name of the patient, as we are not able to access any personal patient information. We always verify the room number and name of patient with the hospital before each room delivery.

3.2 What if I don't know the patient's full name, but I know the room number?

Due to privacy protocols, we are unable to access any patient information. We would be unable to deliver a gift to that patient without further information.

3.3 What if patient is discharged before my gift is delivered?

If you purchase a gift and the patient is discharged prior to delivery, we will contact you to confirm next steps. The hospital will not provide us any contact information for the family. 

Options:

If you are able to contact the family, they can stop by the store to pick up the gift.

We can forward the gift free of charge to the family if you/or they can provide delivery address information.

If unable to forward the gift, we will be happy to refund your purchase.

You can donate your purchase to another patient.

4 Delivery Questions
4.1 When will my gift be delivered?

Gifts are usually delivered same day, with few exceptions:

Order came in too close to closing time (delivery will be made next morning).

If patient is not located/is in surgery (we will keep checking with the hospital to confirm patient location)

Stock needs to be transferred from offsite storage (same day if before noon and there is more than one staff at the store, next day if order received afternoon with one staff).

4.2 Do you do room deliveries on weekends?

Yes! We are open Saturdays and Sundays, noon until 5pm (unless it is a holiday long weekend).

On the rare occasion we are unable to deliver on a weekend day, the delivery is made the next available open shift.

4.3 How will I know if my order is delivered?

A delivery confirmation email will be sent to the email address you provided once your order is delivered.

5 Donation Questions
5.1 What kind of donations do you accept?

MONETARY DONATIONS: We are very fortunate to have the support of donors like you! We are happy to process your monetary donations, please come during regular business hours and our sales associates will be happy to assist you. At the time of your donation, a receipt will be given. For donations over $20 a tax receipt will be mailed to you.

YOUTH PHILANTHROPY: If you have a child that is donating their birthday money or held a fundraiser, please contact our Foundation office (located at College Plaza) to book a cheque presentation to celebrate your young philanthropist! 780-433-5437

WE DO NOT ACCEPT HARD GOODS: The hospital does not accept any hard goods (blankets, toys, bears, etc.) due to space constraints and for infection control purposes.  Monetary donations allow Child Life to purchase the items needed when they are needed, for the appropriate age groups at the hospital, at any given time. This helps avoid too many toys for one age group and not enough for others.
